About Friendly Pines Camp
We are a residential summer camp for all boys and girls ages 6-13. Friendly Pines Camp is an independent camp, meaning we are not affiliated or owned by a parent organization. We are accredited through the
American Camp Association (ACA) and a member of the
Western Association for Independent Camps (WAIC). During the rest of the year we rent our facilities to a wide variety of groups for retreats, conferences, and other gatherings. We are located in the Bradshaw Range just south of Prescott, Arizona. Prescott is about 2 hours northwest of Phoenix, about 2 hours southwest of Flagstaff, and about an hour west of Sedona. We are at an elevation of about 6300 feet and enjoy comfortable warm summers and mild winters. Much of camp property borders the Prescott National Forest.
Summer Camp
Our summer season runs for about 12 weeks between mid-May and early August. The first couple weeks consist of staff training. We hold two 2-week sessions and one 2 1/2-week session. Our program is one of the best in the business and one of the most unique. Campers choose which activities they would like to participate in and each camper gets a personalized schedule for the session. There are four activity hours in a day. Each activity meets every other day for an hour. A few activities meet for two hours or four hours. This gives our campers up to 8 different activities of their choosing.

As bookends to our summer, we also host a few special health needs camps.
Camp Not-A-Wheeze is organized by the
American Lung Association of Arizona for campers with moderate to severe asthma. After that, we welcome the
Arizona Diabetes Association and run
Camp AZDA, a camp for children and teenagers with Type 1 diabetes. We also host
Camp Rainbow which is run and staffed by the
Phoenix Children's Hospital. These camps are one week long and registration is handled by the organization that runs them.
Rental Facilities
During the Fall (August to November) and Spring (January to May) seasons we rent the facilities out to a variety of different groups. Many of our groups include schools, non-profit organizations, corporations, and church and other religiously affiliated groups.
