Our Neighborhood

Friendly Pines Camp is nestled high in the Bradshaw Mountains near Prescott, Arizona.

Because we're at an elevation of 6300 feet, we enjoy near perfect weather. Daytime highs are usually in the 80's. Nights are usually about 20 degrees cooler, so sweatshirts aren't uncommon. Our rainy season in July and August offers just enough precipitation to keep the temperature and the dust down - with virtually no mud and no mosquitoes.

Friendly Pines is a short six mile drive from charming and historic downtown Prescott, at one time the Territorial Capital of Arizona. Prescott offers many great restaurants, shops and historic sites to keep counselors busy on their days off. Many enjoy relaxing on the Courthouse Square in the center of our city.

For days when counselors explore more of Arizona, they find many accessible attractions since Prescott is in the geographic center of the state. Other nearby attractions include these:

Most everything staff will need all summer can be found in and around Prescott, but Phoenix is just a two-hour drive away and is one of the country's largest and most cosmopolitan centers.
