The Application Process

download an application and cover letter now, or contact us by e-mail at info@friendlypines.com
or by telephone at (928)445-2128 (or (602)255-0550 from the greater Phoenix
area) and ask for an application packet. Usually, we begin sending out staff application packets during the late fall or early winter for the upcoming summer season. The packet will
include a cover letter with a specific job description, a consent form,
and the four page application.
Read everything over carefully.
We ask that you read the cover letter and job description thoroughly so that you understand what Friendly Pines Camp is about and can then decide if we're the type of camp at which you'd like ot apply.
Fill out the application and consent form completely. Incomplete
applications may not be considered. Send the paperwork back to our
office promptly. Once we receive your application, the process has
officially begun and will proceed as follows:
- Interview
- Face-to-Face Meeting Often
the interview is the meeting, but for some out-of-state applicants
we'll conduct a phone interview and later a face-to-face meeting, utilizing
a staff member in the area or some mode of available technology.
- Reference Check The
application will require at least three references. We prefer people
such as former employers, old family friends, teachers, guidance counselors,
coaches, or religious clergy. References should not come from peers.
- Professional Background Check At this point in the process, if we are seriously considering hiring you, we will begin a background check. Then we will contact you with a
job offer, pending a clean background check. The check takes no longer than a week to complete.
- Drug Testing This
is a pre-employment drug test conducted once you arrive at camp in May.
We also conduct random drug tests throughout the summer to ensure our promise
of a drug free environment.
